My Tribe. The Ones That Dare To Be Different.

I’ll say that again. The ones that dare to be different.
Have you read Dominick Quartuccio’s book, Design Your Future? I first read it back in 2019 and recently gave it another pass. Throughout the book, Dominick latches onto a concept that has fundamentally reshaped how I view my craft and the people I serve:
“The pain of change is less than the pain of staying the same.”
I was taken aback when I first heard it. Like me, I’m sure you’ve felt that exhaustion of being stuck in a routine at some stage in your life.
In the world of high-end events, “staying the same” is easy. It’s the massive guest lists, using the same “safe” vendors over and over, the Top 40 loops, and entertainment that guests have seen dozens of times before. But for those who truly value excellence, there’s a persistent ache in the ordinary that never seems to go away—not unlike how my glutes set on fire after four sets of Bulgarian split squats.
All joking aside, the “pain” of a wedding that feels transactional rather than transformational is highly noticeable.
Breaking the Default Narrative
I notice that most couples settle for the “default” because change feels disruptive. But you don’t belong in that group. You understand that the priority is to create a day that lives forever in the memory of you and your guests. To make that happen, you have to lean into the discomfort of doing something unconventional. This is more than just choosing a different style of music; you’re choosing to design a future for your wedding day that rejects the status quo.

Designing the Experience
My tribe—the ones that dare to be different—consists of the planners and couples who aren’t afraid to pivot. They recognize that:
• The “Traditional” Choice is a Hidden Cost: This isn’t just about money. It’s about losing the opportunity for true connection and engagement.
• Luxury isn’t a price point; it’s the absence of the default choice: Every note—and I mean every note—should be a conscious choice to enhance the room and the people inside it, not just fill the silence.
• Movement is Essential: Whether it’s an interactive “roaming” performance or a bespoke setlist, we move away from the static corner of a room and toward the soul of the crowd.
The Reward of the Shift
When you decide that the “pain” of a generic wedding or event is no longer acceptable, your true light starts to shine. You create space for the unknown—the unexpected, the unscripted moments, and the heartfelt conversations. You spark the vibrant energy of a room that feels truly alive.
If you’re ready to move past the “way it’s always been done” and design an experience that is as daring and unique as your own story, then we speak the same language.
Let’s leave the “same” behind. Let’s design something future-proof. If you’re designing a day that rejects the status quo, let’s talk about the soundtrack.
